The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left two men dead Friday night in Kankakee Township.
Around 9 p.m., authorities arrived at the crossroads of State Road 2 and County Road 500 East, where they discovered both drivers had died.
According to investigators, a truck driven by 42-year-old Matthew J. Turner of Crawfordville, Florida, collided head-on with a car driven by 43-year-old Michael S. Munroe of Lansing, Illinois.
Turner and Munroe were pronounced dead on the scene. Members of the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team and the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to help with the investigation.
The toxicology findings for both drivers are pending.
