A belligerent villager was detained after refusing to leave the hospital where her boyfriend was receiving treatment.
Layne Carta Davis Wolitzer, 64, of The Villages’ Historic Side, was at UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital on Sunday afternoon when she “became belligerent with hospital staff over the medical treatment her boyfriend was receiving,” according to a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Due to her “aggressive behavior,” hospital security called law authorities and requested that Wolitzer “be escorted off the property.”
Even after deputies came, Wolitzer refused to leave the area.
“Then arrest me.” “I’m not leaving,” she stated.
She was arrested on a trespassing charge and put into the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after paying a $1,000 bond.
