Three people were charged on Monday in connection with a University City shooting that left one person dead.

Dawneeyale Foster and Raniyah Smith are each charged with one count of second-degree murder while committing a felony.

Jayla Moore, a third defendant, was charged with one count of attempted possession of a prohibited substance.

According to court documents, Foster, Smith, Moore, and two others traveled to the 6600 block of Etzel on Sunday to meet with two others for a drug sale.

Smith had set up the drug trade with one of the individuals they were supposed to meet.

When they arrived, an unidentified man in the car gave money to a woman outside the vehicle. In exchange, she showed the man a tablet.

Foster stepped out of the car and fired several bullets at the woman and another person outside.

Foster returned to the car and continued firing rounds.

Officers came to find the woman shot, laying on the ground with medications scattered around. She died of her injuries.

The second person was transferred to a nearby hospital. The individual knows Smith and was able to share social media information about him.

The person recognized her from a photo lineup.

Foster and Smith have a $500,000 bond, while Moore has a $100,000 bond.
