Davenport Man Fled And Crashed With Children In Car, Police Say

According to authorities, a Davenport man ran from officers with two children in his car and collided with a police vehicle.

Devin Sodeman, 29, of Davenport, was arrested Wednesday night, jail records show.

It began shortly before 7 p.m. Monday near the 1700 block of Cedar Street.

Officers reported that Sodeman was traveling at 60 mph in a 25 mph zone.

When authorities attempted to stop him in an alley, he allegedly crashed into a squad car.

Officials reported there were two children in the car.

Police said Sodeman has been driving with a suspended license since 2022.

Sodeman faces two counts of felony evading, felony assault on a police officer, felony second-degree criminal mischief, and four counts of misdemeanor child endangerment.

The bond for Sodeman is set at $15,000.
