Grafton man fatally shot inside East Side Cleveland smoke shop, police investigate circumstances surrounding attack

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 34-year-old man from Grafton died Monday after being shot inside a smoke shop on Cleveland’s East Side.

Police and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Samir Santana. The shooting happened at Proof Smoke Shop on Lakeshore Boulevard, near East 156th Street.

The shooting took place around 11:30 a.m.

Paramedics transported Santana to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police did not release information about what led to the shooting or indicate whether any arrests had been made.
