An Indianapolis man was detained after an investigation into a stabbing in Johnson County on Tuesday.
According to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office press release, on December 2, deputies were called to a residence in the 7100 block of East County Road 1075 North on a complaint of a stabbing in progress.
While deputies were on their way to the scene, dispatchers reported hearing a “active disturbance” in the background. When deputies arrived on location, they discovered a male with a stab wound to the head. He was promptly sent to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
During the inquiry, deputies discovered that an argument among family members allegedly resulted in a “physical altercation” between adult and juvenile brothers. According to witness testimonies, a 19-year-old male suspect allegedly kicked his way into a locked bedroom before physically assaulting his younger sibling.
Additional interviews corroborated the conclusion that the 19-year-old was the principal aggressor. Police add that during the battle, the juvenile brother allegedly seized a knife and slashed the top of the suspect’s head, claiming self-defense.
The suspect is charged with felony domestic battery with a prior conviction and criminal imprisonment. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office stated that the suspect had two past convictions for domestic battery.
