Police: 20-year-old Man Fatally Shot In Lake Wales

A suspect is under arrest after fatally shooting a man in Polk County on Tuesday.

According to the Lake Wales Police Department, the shooting occurred around 1:15 p.m. on South 9th Street.

Officers came to find the victim, Jayvyn McFadden, 20, from Lake Wales, who had been shot many times. McFadden was brought to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The suspected gunman surrendered to authorities and was charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Miles Edward Brown, 19, from Frostproof, has been named as the suspect.

Investigators have not determined the motivation for the shooting, but it could have been the result of an altercation.
