Police: Woman Shot While Driving In Chicago’s Fernwood Neighborhood

A 34-year-old woman was shot while driving late Tuesday on the city’s Far South Side.

According to Chicago police, the victim was driving around 10:12 p.m. in the 10100 block of South Wentworth Ave. when a man standing on a sidewalk opened fire on her vehicle.

She was hit in the arm and drove herself to Roseland Hospital, where she was reported as in fair condition.

Police did not specify what led up to the shooting, and no description of the gunman was immediately available.

Nobody is in custody. Detectives from Area Two are conducting an investigation.
