A Jasper man has been sentenced to federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine in the Eastern District of Texas, according to U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.
On December 1, 2025, U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant sentenced David Anthony Piepenburg, 46, to 11 years and 3 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
According to court documents, beginning in 2019, Piepenburg plotted with others to distribute and possess 500 grams or more of methamphetamine in the Eastern District of Texas.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that uses the Department of Justice’s full resources to combat the invasion of illegal immigration, eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from violent criminals.
The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated this case, and Heather Rattan, Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuted it.
