A man was seriously hurt after a shooting on Monday night on the city’s West Side.
The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. on the 2100 block of South Kildare Avenue in the Lawndale area.
According to Chicago police, the 43-year-old victim was standing near a sidewalk when he was approached by a gunman, who shot him twice in the chest.
According to authorities, the gunman then fled the area, heading in an unknown direction.
The victim was transferred to Mt. Sinai Hospital in serious condition at the last check.
As of Monday night, no one was in custody.
Detectives from Area 4 are conducting an investigation.
