On December 7, 2025, around 1:30 a.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary at La Panza Feliz Market on Ford Road in Porter. The store owner saw two people escaping and fired a firearm in an attempt to stop them. The suspects fled in a car, and the owner attempted to pursue them, even striking their vehicle with his own. Deputies later discovered the vehicle abandoned and wrecked.

A perimeter was set up with the assistance of Montgomery County Precinct 4 constables and the Houston Police Department. The Sheriff’s Office K9 team pursued and caught 24-year-old Xavier Deon Stansberry of Houston. Stansberry received treatment at a local hospital for a K9 bite sustained during the arrest. The second suspect remains at large.

Investigators discovered that Stansberry and his accomplice broke into the store’s ATM and grabbed the cash box. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of building burglary, ATM theft, and avoiding arrest/detention. He is charged with building burglary, ATM theft under $300,000, and evading arrest and detention.

The investigation is underway. Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5876 or Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 800-392-7867 to remain anonymous.
