Danville police detain suspect in fatal Scooters Bar shooting

Another man has been apprehended as a suspect in the fatal shooting that occurred at Scooters Bar in Danville.

Danville police have arrested Jontell J. Robinson, a 30-year-old Chicago resident, in connection with a fatal shooting at Scooters Bar on November 29, 2025. Robinson was wanted on an outstanding warrant for first-degree murder and felonious possession of a weapon. He also had a separate parole warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections. Officers with the Problem Oriented Policing Unit recognized Robinson and followed him on foot when he fled. He was apprehended about five minutes later as he attempted to hide behind a nearby tree line. Robinson was arrested and escorted to the Public Safety Building for processing.

The incident occurred at Scooters Bar, 1114 E. Voorhees St., at about 1:26 a.m., when Danville police responded to a call of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, and medical professionals declared him deceased at the scene. Shortly after, another male arrived at the OSF Emergency Room with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Following treatment, he was charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Trevon M. Lake, 30, of Danville, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and unauthorized possession of a weapon by a felon in connection with the shooting. Lake was initially charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
