A tailgater on County Road 466A was apprehended after a traffic stop.
Jarvis Lamar Webster, 38, of Wildwood, was driving a maroon Honda Crosstour at 4 p.m. Saturday when an officer noticed him tailgating another car, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
During a traffic stop, Webster revealed that he did not have a license and quickly grew argumentative with the officer. The officer attempted to handcuff Webster, but he fought and threw himself on the ground.
A computer check indicated that Webster’s license had been suspended for failing to pay court-ordered financial obligations. The officer also discovered that Webster had been convicted of driving while his license was suspended in 2015 and 2019.
Due to previous offenses, Webster, who was arrested in 2021 on a charge of aggravated violence, was charged with a felony of driving with a license suspended. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting a $2,500 bond.
