A man accused of threatening a relative with money has pleaded guilty to attempted bribery after attempting to persuade an arresting officer not to take him into custody.
Brandon Faunda, 24, pleaded guilty to an attempted bribery crime and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
Faunda was detained by Liberty Township police in September after a witness reported that he was “screaming” at a female relative and threatening to murder her if she did not give him $500.
Faunda denied any threats but was arrested. Reports indicate that Faunda exhibited combative behavior in the back of the patrol cruiser during his journey to Trumbull County Jail, pleading with the officer to “give him a break” and offering the officer $200 in exchange for issuing a summons instead of transporting him to jail.
