A 26-year-old man has been apprehended and charged with murder after deputies claimed she shot and killed a teenager last week.
Ben Jerry Gage Jr. was arrested on Monday, December 15, and charged with capital murder. He is currently in the Harris County Jail.
On Sunday, December 14, deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a vehicle in the ditch. When deputies arrived, they discovered a Black teenager in the driver’s seat, suffering from several gunshot wounds.
The teenager was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Investigators say the teen met Gage in a neighboring parking lot before the shooting. During the meeting, a brawl broke out, and Gage shot the teenager.
It is unclear what caused the fight and shooting.
