Police: 1 Dead And 1 Injured After Shooting At Party In Santa Ana

A fight at a party in Santa Ana turned into a gunshot on Friday, killing one person and injuring another, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Marine Street about 11:25 p.m. after receiving word of a shooting, according to a Santa Ana Police Department social media post.

“Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds,” according to the announcement.

One of the victims, 20-year-old Santa Ana resident Nathan Isaiah Saldana, was pronounced dead at the scene by Orange County Fire Authority workers, authorities said.

According to SAPD, the second victim, a 21-year-old guy from Santa Ana, was brought to a local hospital and is in stable condition as of Saturday.

“At this time, the motive for the shooting appears to be gang-related and stemmed from an altercation following a party in the area,” police claimed.

Detectives are attempting to identify witnesses and a suspect in the incident.
