Houston Man Robbed And Beaten After Meeting Suspect On Dating App

Houston police are asking for help identifying a suspect who robbed and attacked a man they met on a dating app.

The incident occurred on Monday, November 24, at 6 p.m., according to the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division.

According to authorities, the victim stated that he met an unknown man on a dating app and agreed to pick him up at the 6400 block of Foxhunter. The victim stated that the man then accompanied him to his residence, where they stayed briefly.

The victim then drove the man to a convenience store on the 6200 block of South Lake Houston Parkway. When they got at the parking lot, the man refused to exit the vehicle, according to authorities.

The victim informed police that the man became aggressive, so he went into the store for assistance. The suspect followed him inside, demanding his car keys.

When the victim refused to hand up the keys, the suspect struck him in the face several times, stole his phone, and escaped on foot, according to police.

Police identify the suspect as a Black man between the ages of 22 and 28, at about 6 feet tall. He wore a gray Nike jogging suit, a black shirt, and black sneakers.
