A two-vehicle crash early Christmas morning in St. James Parish, Louisiana, killed four people and injured two others, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 3:45 a.m. on LA 641, south of Interstate 10. Louisiana State Police identified the victims as Tyreione Parker, 35; Kedrick Robertson, 29; Gevin Harvey, 35; and Christina Gillam, 22.

Parker was driving a 2008 Honda Accord northbound on LA 641 when he collided with a 2019 GMC Sierra heading south. Parker lost control of the Honda for reasons that are still being investigated, leading it to twist and collide with the GMC in the southbound lane.

According to state police, Parker died at the scene. Robertson, Harvey, and Gillam, who were passengers in the Honda, had critical injuries and were taken to a hospital, where they died.

A 13-year-old passenger in the Honda was also sent to a hospital. Authorities stated that all of the people in the Honda were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision, and the youngster was improperly restrained.

The driver of the GMC Sierra, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver’s condition has not been revealed.

Officials stated that impairment had not been determined, but normal toxicology samples were obtained as part of the ongoing inquiry.
