On December 22, 2025, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office reported that 19-year-old Abdias Kobe Espinoza was sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary of a dwelling with intent to conduct aggravated robbery and aggravated robbery.
The conviction resulted from a premeditated armed home invasion on December 3, 2024. To obtain entrance to a North Richland Hills residence, Espinoza and two co-defendants pretended to be DoorDash delivery personnel. Once inside, they pistol-whipped the victim and demanded his cryptocurrency wallet, threatening to murder him and his family. The victim’s wife hid with their children and dialed 911.
North Richland Hills Police officers arrived at the site, leading the criminals to leave. A manhunt was launched, and with the help of several agencies and Air One, all three culprits were arrested two days later, on December 5, 2024.
The DA’s office applauded North Richland Hills Police, particularly Detective Cody Brock, as well as the Fort Worth and Watauga Police Departments, for their contributions in bringing the suspects to justice.
