A teenage suspect has been detained nearly two months after a Halloween party in northwest Harris County got violent, injuring three people with gunshots.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home in the 9200 block of Cornette Drive on Saturday, October 25, 2025, after receiving multiple complaints of shots fired during a huge Halloween event. Investigators report that an estimated 100 attendees publicized the party on Instagram.

During the event, an argument erupted between the suspect, his girlfriend, and numerous others. During the heated discussion, the suspect allegedly pulled out a semi-automatic weapon and fired multiple rounds into the crowd.

Three adult men were hit by gunfire and taken to surrounding hospitals. All were reported as in stable condition. The shooter left before deputies arrived.

Witnesses first identified the suspect as a young Hispanic male dressed in a black skeleton costume. Detectives from the HCSO Violent Crimes Unit took up the case and identified the suspect as 19-year-old Xavier Anthony Monjaras.

After examining the evidence, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office approved three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Monjaras was detained on Thursday, December 18, 2025, and put into the Harris County Jail.

The investigation is underway.
