There are no suspects in custody following a quadruple stabbing late Wednesday night that injured four individuals.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on December 31 at an apartment complex along Broadway and Gilbert Roads.

Mesa Police say when police arrived at the site, they discovered four adults with cut and stab wounds.

“Upon arrival, officers located four adult victims suffering from cut and stab wounds. Three victims sustained deep lacerations consistent with an edged weapon, and a fourth suffered a puncture wound to the chest. All four victims received medical treatment, and their injuries are not considered life-threatening,” Mesa Police said.

What they’re saying: According to investigators, a brawl broke out when people began consuming alcohol in numerous flats.

“The investigation determined the incident involved occupants from multiple apartments within the complex. Officers learned that several individuals had been consuming alcohol, and a verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation. During the disturbance, additional residents exited nearby apartments and became involved,” police said.

More than ten persons have been arrested for questioning, but no arrests have occurred.

“Multiple interviews were conducted with victims, witnesses, and involved parties. However, accounts of the incident were conflicting, and detectives were unable to establish a clear primary aggressor. At this time, no arrests have been made, and all detained individuals were later released,” police said.

Police say the stabbing appeared to be limited to the group.
