A Tallahassee man was apprehended for firing nearly 60 rounds into the air on New Year’s Day, according to arrest papers.

According to documents, Eddric Murray was shooting a semi-automatic weapon into the air on Gaile Avenue.

According to arrest papers, Murray was discovered in the rear of a property throwing what were later discovered to be shot casings into a box.

According to arrest papers, Murray informed officers that he was “just shooting in the air” and “celebrating the first.”

Officers discovered 59 shot casings in the box and on the ground in the surrounding area.

Murray has been charged with discharging a firearm in public or on residential property, as well as tampering with physical evidence.
