8 People Wanted In Connection To Theft Scheme At Indiana Liquor Store

A Fort Wayne woman and several of her friends are wanted in connection with a theft scheme that allegedly stole nearly $3,000 worth of alcohol from a local liquor store.

According to court documents, Courtney Clawson, 34, has been charged with corrupt business influence, a Level 5 felony, and a warrant for her arrest was issued on Wednesday. The probe stems from instances that occurred between September 2025 and November 2025, while Clawson was employed at the Cap n’ Cork on Coliseum Boulevard.

Investigators claim Clawson participated in a scam in which she scanned small 1.7-ounce “airplane-size” booze bottles while bagging larger, more expensive bottles for pals who visited the store. According to authorities, Clawson would grab premium bottles from behind the counter, fake scanning them without registering the items, and then place the unpaid liquor in bags. Some of the suspects reportedly went to the store many times a week.

The Fort Wayne Police Department identified 12 persons as part of the investigation, accusing them of stealing alcohol worth $2,966.57. In addition to Clawson, criminal charges have been brought against Geoffrey Wade, Dimanic Goodwin, Jamie Wade, Darrell Thomas, Michael Nelson, Brittany Roberson, and Kameshia Tabb.

According to authorities, no further individuals involved in the investigation have yet been legally charged. Cap n’ Cork seeks full reimbursement for the purported loss. The investigation is underway.
