Grove woman wins $1M on scratch-off ticket

A Grove woman bought a scratch-off ticket on Christmas Eve, and it turned her into a millionaire.

Sam won $30 by playing the scratcher called “Money Maker.” She purchased the ticket with Christmas money at the Grove Walmart and scratched it on Christmas Day.

Even after learning she had won, Sam remained to work and was unable to visit the Oklahoma Lottery Winner Center until Thursday to officially claim her prize.

Sam intends to use her $1 million win to build a house for her family, pay off obligations, and save a considerable amount of money.

“This is such a special win, especially around the holidays,” said Abby Morgan, director of marketing and product development for the Oklahoma Lottery. “Stories like Sam’s remind us that the Lottery is about more than prizes—it’s about creating moments that truly change lives for Oklahoma families.”

Sam’s win makes him the 94th $1 million winner in the Oklahoma Lottery. Her win also represents the second top prize grabbed in the Money Maker game, with one top prize still available.
