A Waldorf woman has been charged with theft in connection with an alleged shoplifting incident at a Target store in Charles County, according to court records.
Samiyah Malerie Thomas, 19, is charged with theft of property valued between $100 and $1,500, a misdemeanor under Maryland law. The charge stems from an incident reported on December 27, 2025, at the Target store on Western Parkway.
A deputy with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the store after loss prevention personnel reported a shoplifting incident. Store staff recognized Thomas and a youngster as suspects in the theft of merchandise without payment.
The documents reveal that Thomas walked past all points of sale, concealing unpaid merchandise in her purse. Officers stated that Thomas first denied having unpaid items before a search revealed multiple items of shop merchandise.
The store surveillance footage was reviewed as part of the investigation. Court documents show that the total worth of the allegedly stolen products was around $130.89.
Thomas was freed on her own recognizance after her arrest.
A court appearance is scheduled for February 17, 2026, in Charles County District Court.
