Authorities say one person is dead after a dump truck and a tractor-trailer crashed early Monday morning on a busy Maryland highway.
Around 5:30 a.m., a crash occurred on southbound Interstate 95 near Route 100 in Howard County’s Elkridge region.
According to investigators, the driver of the dump truck collided with the rear of a parked tractor trailer. The dump truck driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was sent to a nearby hospital.
For several hours, Interstate 95’s southbound lanes were closed. At 11:42 a.m., two left lanes were open.
The crash is still under investigation.
