El Paso Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Lethal Narcotics And Including 10 Grams of Fentanyl, Meth

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers, conducting a routine traffic check on US 54 in El Paso, unexpectedly discovered lethal narcotics after detecting the scent of marijuana.

According to a social media post from the Texas DPS-West Texas Region, the initial stop was for a window tint violation.

Following the scent of marijuana, a search was carried out, discovering more than just blunted windows.

The troopers seized over 10 grams of fentanyl, which they estimate might be equivalent to around 5,000 potentially lethal doses, as well as over 12 grams of methamphetamine.

The DPS acknowledged the involvement of the El Paso Police Department and thanked them for their cooperation during the operation. This combined effort by local and state law enforcement shows a united front in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in the area.
