A body discovered at a Tempe construction site on Wednesday is thought to be that of a missing 91-year-old man.
This recovery comes after several days of looking for 91-year-old Apolonio Romero, a missing community member,” officials said in a statement issued on January 14. The search team included family members, volunteers, Tempe Fire, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsdale Police, and Salt River Police.
Tempe police say the victim was discovered near N. McClintock and Weber Drives.
Romero has been reported missing since January 3.
The identity cannot be confirmed until the medical examiner completes the identification process.”We understand how deeply this ongoing search has affected the community, and we ask for your patience and compassion as the identification process and investigation continue,” Tempe Police said.
