Woman Detained After Suspected Meth Found During Court Custody in Prentiss County

A Booneville-area woman was detained on Monday after authorities discovered her with suspected methamphetamine while being detained following a sentencing in Prentiss County Circuit Court.

According to officials, Vanessa Gracia, 45, of Jackson, Tennessee, was sentenced in court on January 12. Authorities stated Gracia was discovered to have a crystal-like material in her purse while being arrested by Deputy Kolby Knight.

Prentiss County Justice Court Judge Ray Hall placed Gracia’s bond at $10,000, according to officials.

North Mississippi Narcotics Agent Grady Smith is scheduled to present the case before the next grand jury, according to authorities. Gracia is expected to face charges for possessing a controlled narcotic, methamphetamine, within 1,500 feet of a church.
