A months-long investigation led to the arrest of Theodore Magee. Allegheny Township police reported that he wanted to buy a 6-year-old girl and offered $5,000 to her mother.
According to court documents, Magee, 44, is a friend of the girl’s family. However, in April, the child’s mother informed police that Magee abused her daughter in his Gene Drive house and expressed an interest in purchasing her. According to authorities, Magee sent a text message to the victim’s mother wanting to purchase the girl.
Magee had shown officers messages and videos from his cell phone in which he referred to the victim as his girlfriend, according to authorities. He informed authorities that he and the child shared an inflatable mattress when she stayed the night at his house and hugged. Police spoke with the little girl, who informed them Magee had his hands inside her pants.
Magee has been in trouble with the law before. Court documents reflect a lengthy criminal record, including assault and harassment charges in a separate case filed last year.
“It’s disturbing, to say the least,” Chief Daniel Uncapher said. “These investigations are never easy.”
Uncapher told Channel 11 that the inquiry began when Magee called police to report an alleged incident involving the 6-year-old and another youngster. Police quickly concluded there was more to his story.
“During the inquiry, we identified the actor or defendant in this instance. The inquiry continued at that time, and a set of criminal charges was filed,” Uncapher stated.
Magee faces multiple accusations in this instance, including trafficking and indecent assault on a minor under the age of 13. He’s being incarcerated at the Westmoreland County Prison.
