The Brazoria Police Department apprehended a fugitive who had been gone for over three years and was wanted for a parole violation related to weapons charges from Michigan.
According to Brazoria police, investigators obtained information from the Michigan Department of Corrections and the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force about Robert Jeffrey Hill, who has been missing since January 16, 2023. Hill was considered to be in the City of Brazoria because of past connections to the area.
Detectives from the Brazoria Police Department initiated an investigation, which included research and interviews with people who knew where Hill may be. During the investigation, officers discovered Hill may have been staying in an abandoned home. The search lasted several days as officers attempted to confirm his location.
On January 18, 2026, Officer Veronica Saenz of the Brazoria Police Department, supported by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, discovered Hill within the city. Hill attempted to flee on foot, but after a brief chase, cops apprehended him without incident.
Hill was taken to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Jail and charged on a charge of evading arrest. Authorities announced that he will be extradited back to Michigan to face outstanding parole violations and weapons charges.
The Brazoria Police Department commended the officers involved for their perseverance and investigative efforts, and appreciated the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office for its prompt assistance and professionalism throughout the arrest.
