Update: Sebastian has been located and he is OK.
Family and friends are hoping to reunite with a 15-year-old autistic boy who went missing while working out at his North Side club this weekend. According to his father’s social media post, Sebastian Scott last left Quads gym, 3727 North Broadway, in Boystown at 9:13 a.m. on Saturday.
“He ran away from his sister after working out,” Gray Scott said in the post, which was shared by Friends of Alcott, the school Sebastian previously attended. He is now enrolled at Lincoln Park High School, the post said.
“He doesn’t have his phone or any way to communicate,” Gray Scott wrote, saying his son is “harmless but distraught.”
“I’m afraid he may be headed to kill himself and the only way I can think of is the lake,” Scott said.
Sebastian was not wearing glasses when he went missing, according to Gray Scott, but he was wearing the long, gray puffy jacket shown in the photo, as well as gray sweatpants and black sports shoes. He stands 5’8″ tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds.
“He looks down, never up unless asked to look up,” Gray Scott said.
Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads authorities to Sebastian’s location.
“Any time a child goes missing, it hits close to home,” said Paul Rutherford, Executive Director of Cook County Crime Stoppers. “As a father myself, I can’t imagine what Sebastian’s family is going through right now. We are urging anyone who has seen Sebastian or has any information, no matter how small, to come forward. Your tip could make all the difference.”
