The Cedar Rapids Police Department says two people have been charged in connection with a break-in on Thursday.
Alex Hilton, 22, of Cedar Rapids, is charged of plotting to burglarize a home and trafficking a stolen handgun.
According to court records, Hilton worked alongside Brandon Graham, 23, of Cedar Rapids.
According to police, a neighbor spotted Hilton standing guard while Graham broke through a basement window on the 300 block of Ninth Street Northwest in Cedar Rapids.
According to the alleged victim, Graham entered her home and grabbed her handgun after she told him she was going out of town.
According to court documents, a police search on Saturday discovered Hilton carrying the stolen pistol.
According to police, Hilton is prohibited from carrying weapons due to a criminal No Contact Order and the fact that he was possessing marijuana.
Graham was charged with third-degree burglary, trafficking stolen weapons, theft, and criminal mischief.
Graham and Hilton are being incarcerated in the Linn County Jail.
