19-year-old Convicted Rapist Sentenced To 45 Years In Prison For Abusing Portland Teens And Women

A 19-year-old who pled guilty to various sex abuse crimes involving young girls was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Damani Jazz Anderson pleaded guilty on January 23 to four counts of first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, three counts of unauthorized use of a handgun, and one count each of first-degree attempted rape with a firearm and first-degree robbery with a firearm.

“Our community is so grateful for the strength and sacrifice of these five young survivors, who have saved others from harm at the hands of this sexual predator,” said Senior Deputy District Attorney Robin Skarstad after the sentencing.

Anderson was 16 years old when the assaults began in the Portland-metro area between February 2023 and August 2024. He communicated with several of the victims online and via social media platforms such as Snapchat.

Anderson was arrested in August 2024 after allegedly raping a woman he met on a dating app. Following his arrest, four other victims came forward, including a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old girl.
