DA: Former NYPD officer accused of raping woman after a party

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced on Tuesday that a former NYPD officer is facing charges for allegedly raping a woman following a party in Brooklyn in September.

The indictment charges Daheem Morris, 27, with third-degree rape and sexual abuse, forcible touching, and sexual misconduct.

Morris and the victim had known each other for around two years and have mutual friends, according to the DA.

The two went to a party on September 28, 2025. Prosecutors allege that after the party, the defendant raped the woman in a vehicle. The victim repeatedly directed the defendant to stop.

District Attorney Gonzalez stated, “This defendant is accused of raping a woman who repeatedly implored him to stop, and we will attempt to hold him completely accountable. No one is above the law, including those who have sworn to uphold it. I thank the victim for her cooperation and the NYPD for their thorough investigation.”

Morris was released without bond and told to return to court on May 8.
