United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand sentenced 41-year-old Michael William Boston to 84 months in prison on March 5 for transporting and possessing child sexual abuse material.
Boston, a Grove City resident, will also spend 10 years of supervised release following his prison sentence. United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced the court’s ruling on March 6.
According to evidence given in court, Boston moved material by transferring it to a cloud server in October 2022. His plea deal included liability for two additional instances of material shipment in 2023.
According to federal officials, Boston possessed over 1,500 photos and movies stored on seven electronic devices. Many photographs showed the exploitation of newborns and toddlers as little as a few months old. Some content depicted bestiality, including blindfolded infants bound to immobile objects.
Boston formerly served as a resource educator for students with hearing problems. He visited schools in nine Pennsylvania counties to engage with students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve.
The defendant was involved in local churches and his community. Boston was sacked and had to surrender his teaching license as a result of the prosecution.
Kelly M. Locher, an assistant United States attorney, prosecuted the case. Homeland Security Investigations and the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the case.
This case is part of the Project Safe Childhood. In 2006, the Department of Justice initiated a program to eliminate child exploitation and abuse.
