Student detained after bringing gun to Ohio middle school

A middle school student was detained on Friday for allegedly carrying a loaded gun onto school grounds, according to Cuyahoga Falls City School District authorities.

The district announced the arrest shortly after 11 a.m. in a bulletin on its website.

According to school officials, students informed the administration that a kid may have been carrying a pistol on campus. The school administration then implemented safety precautions and alerted the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department.

According to the district, police identified the student and discovered he had a loaded pistol before arresting him.

Students in grades six through twelve were placed under lockdown on campus shortly after 11:30 a.m. as a result of the incident. District officials confirmed that all children and personnel were unharmed during the incident.

The lockdown was lifted just before noon, according to the district.

Parents were informed that additional updates would be sent via the district’s ParentSquare notification system.
