Dangerous driver traveling 115 mph taken into custody on I-75 at Wildwood

A suspect was taken into custody with methamphetamine after being pulled over for going 115 mph on Interstate 75 near Wildwood.

Jonathan Leeshannon Shultz, 39, of Chiefland, was driving a silver Nissan near Mile Marker 318 on Interstate 75 shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday when a trooper used radar to establish the car was moving at 115 mph, according to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Rather than pulling over, Schultz continued driving at speeds over 100 mph while switching lanes, endangering other drivers. He ultimately pulled over around Mile Marker 329. A bag of methamphetamine was discovered stashed in a compartment near the steering wheel.

He was arrested on allegations of reckless driving and possession of methamphetamine. He was taken into the Sumter County Detention Center on a $2,650 bond.
