Man in country illegally Apprehended in Pennsylvania for voting in seven federal elections

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apprehended a man accused of illegally voting in several federal elections, according to the DHS.

Officials claimed Mahady Sacko, a Mauritanian national, was apprehended in Philadelphia with the assistance of the FBI. Authorities claim Sacko voted in seven federal elections beginning in 2008 despite not being a US citizen.

According to the DHS, Sacko entered the United States near Miami and was ordered removed by an immigration judge. The Board of Immigration Appeals upheld the removal order in 2002.

According to investigators, Sacko is accused of falsely claiming that he was a US citizen when he registered to vote in Pennsylvania.

The investigation is underway.
