Missing Man Discovered Dead In Lake In Tennessee, Investigation Underway

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reported the discovery of a missing Shelbyville man’s body on Normandy Lake on Sunday.

Officials said game wardens responded to a complaint of a possible missing boater around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The report involves 66-year-old Marvin Parker, who, according to family members, went to the lake on Friday to fish and plant fish attractors but has not been heard from since.

Authorities say a family member discovered Parker’s unattended watercraft on the coast near Normandy Dam and called 911. While first responders were searching the area, another angler in a neighboring creek reported seeing a body.

Responders recovered the body, which was eventually identified as Parker. Officials stated that he was not using a personal flotation device at the time of the event.

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, this is the second boating-related death on Tennessee’s waterways in 2026. The incident is still under investigation.
