46 arrested after drug operation in Ohio

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported dozens of drug- and weapons-related violations during a recent multi-state law enforcement initiative aimed at reducing illegal activity on highways.

As part of the concerted effort, which lasted from March 5 to March 7, Ohio troopers arrested 46 people for drug offenses and logged 17 unlawful weapons violations.

The operation was carried out as part of the 6-State Trooper Project, a collaboration between state law enforcement agencies focused on highway safety, criminal patrol, and intelligence exchange.

In addition to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, partner agencies included the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and West Virginia State Police.

During the three-day enforcement period, authorities in all six states reported 583 drug arrests and 85 unlawful weapons violations.

According to officials, the scheme enables law enforcement agencies across states to remove illegal substances and weapons from communities while also improving roadway safety.
