3 People Taken Into Custody On Weapons-related Charges After Traffic Stop In Elmira

Three people were taken into custody early Thursday morning following a traffic check in Elmira, where a modified shotgun was discovered, according to an Elmira Police Department press release.

Jacobe Flanagan, 27, of Spencer; Jared Manley, 24, of Spencer; and Daveionta Johnson, 20, of Elmira, were arrested on Thursday, March 12, and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (class C felony), according to the release. According to police, Flanagan, the vehicle’s driver, was also charged with a number of vehicle and traffic charges.

Police said the three were nabbed on Thursday after a traffic stop at 1 a.m. near 300 Maple Avenue. During the stop, officers discovered a loaded modified Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun inside the vehicle.

The three individuals were subsequently charged with the aforementioned felonies and taken to the Chemung County Jail.
