Somerset, Massachusetts And Pennsylvania Investigation On Sextortion Leads To Arrest On Multiple Charges

Somerset Police Chief William Tedford states that, for the second time this week, the Somerset Police Department Detective Division has apprehended a suspect in a child enticement case involving a Somerset resident, nce of the Swissvale Braddock Hills Regional Police Department in Pennsylvania.

In December 2025, the Somerset Police Department’s Patrol Division received a report that a Somerset juvenile had been victimized by “sextortion” on the Discord and Telegram social media platforms. Following the first report, Detective Donald Cormier was appointed to head the investigation.

Investigators discovered through court-ordered search warrants that the defendant, known online as “Ollie,” had engaged in illegal internet conversations with many supposed kids from various locations. The suspect also used Amazon to send sexually explicit things to the juvenile’s home address in Somerset.

When Detective Cormier recognized behavior associated with online “grooming,” he began conversing with “Ollie” undercover, posing as a 14-year-old juvenile. During these discussions, “Ollie” transmitted sexually explicit photographs to the undercover detective and asked for, but did not get, similar content in return.

The guy utilizing the “Ollie” alias was eventually identified as 22-year-old Sean Melko of Swissvale, Pennsylvania. An arrest warrant was then obtained from Fall River District Court for the following charges:

• One count of Extortion by Threat of Injury

• One count of Child in Nude, Lascivious Pose/Exhibit

• Five counts of Dissemination of Obscene Matter to a Minor

• One count of Enticing a Child Under 16

• One count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Child

Melko was arrested on March 9, 2026, by officers from the Swissvale Braddock Hills Regional Police Department in Pennsylvania, pursuant to the arrest warrant issued by Detective Cormier. Following the arrest, officers conducted a search warrant at Melko’s home. Pennsylvania authorities will prosecute any new evidence found during the search.

Melko will be taken to Massachusetts at a later date to face the criminal allegations outlined above.

Chief Tedford would like to thank Officer Ryan Waros, members of the Swissvale Braddock Hills Regional Police Department, and Detective Ryan Dinizio of the University of Pittsburgh Police Department for their assistance in apprehending Melko, whose arrest likely prevented additional children from becoming victims.
