A 20-year-old woman was shot while driving in Grand Crossing on Monday morning, according to Chicago police.
The shooting occurred around 6:30 a.m. on the 7300 block of South Stony Island Avenue.
Police claimed the woman was driving when a gray SUV approached and a man behind the wheel started firing.
The woman was hit on the right forearm. She left the location and was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in good condition.
The shooter ran south on Stony Island.
No other injuries were reported.
It is unclear what caused the gunshot or whether it was targeted or random.
There have been no arrests reported. Area One detectives are conducting an investigation.
