A child called 911 Sunday night saying someone had broken into his family’s apartment and was attacking his mother, Terrebonne Parish deputies said.
The suspect, 32-year-old David Blackwell of Gretna, is charged with felony home invasion, officials said.
Deputies arrived at the location Sunday night and discovered the victim with minor injuries.
The woman informed investigators she met the suspect through a dating app and briefly met him outside the residence earlier Sunday.
She claimed he returned Sunday night, forced his way into the flat, and then punched and choked her.
Deputies later spotted his car and arrested him. He is being jailed under a $50,000 bond.
