Two people were discovered dead in a Liberty Township residence on Wednesday.
Emergency crews were dispatched to 4422 Hidden Oaks Lane at 3 p.m. for a welfare check.
The caller was the resident’s son-in-law. He stated that he had not heard from his in-laws in several days and was worried. He informed dispatch that his in-laws’ vehicle was still in the garage.
When the cops arrived, he gave them the garage door code.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, a 70-year-old male and a 72-year-old found inside the home were discovered deceased. The police discovered the woman on the couch with a gunshot wound, while the man lay dead on the floor with a similar injury.
A dead dog was also found.
According to police, the incident is currently being investigated as a murder suicide.
