2 Women Arrested After Aggravated Assault Involving Child Endangerment

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office detained two women after responding to an aggravated assault report in the Sparks community, the agency said Wednesday. Deputies talked with the victims, who reported that the women became aggressive during a child custody exchange on March 31.

Deputies spoke with the victims on the 100 block of Dickens Road. According to EPCSO, the child’s mother, Ebony Martinez, and Araceli Uzeta “intentionally used their vehicle to strike the victim’s vehicle multiple times” while on a chase in Sparks. Investigators discovered a 2-year-old inside the suspect’s vehicle at the time of the event.

EPCSO stated that both suspects fled the scene. Criminal warrants were issued for their arrest on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering a child.

Deputies discovered Uzeta and the vehicle. They arrested her and impounded her vehicle. Martinez was eventually apprehended by deputies and arrested.

Uzeta was placed into the county jail center on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering a child, with a $60,000 bond. Martinez has been booked on the same accusations and is being held without bond.
