A 43-year-old man will spend the next quarter-century in prison, according to a ruling by a judge in Lake County on Monday. Ivan Rodriguez Pagan was sentenced to 25 years in Florida’s Department of Corrections, followed by five years on supervised probation.
The punishment follows a January trial in which a jury convicted Pagan guilty on all charges. The charges included two counts of sexual battery on a person aged 12 to 18, lewd and lascivious molestation of a child, indecent or lewd contact of specific children, and violence.
The case against Pagan began in July 2024. The Clermont Police Department initiated an investigation after receiving a report from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office about a previous sexual battery that occurred within Clermont city limits.
According to investigative reports, the assault took place over a year.
Authorities identified four particular incidences, the most recent of which took place almost three weeks before the original police report. A complainant informed officers that the victim had confessed the abuse to her, motivating her to notify law enforcement right away.
Detectives spoke with the victim at the Lake Sumter Children’s Advocacy Center.
During the interview, the victim described in detail how Pagan sexually beat them on many occasions in a Clermont apartment. Based on those admissions and the subsequent investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant and arrested Pagan.
