An Ohio man who discovered that many locations had sold out of his favorite scratch-off lottery ticket chose a backup option that resulted in a $1 million prize.
The Ashville man informed Ohio Lottery officials that he stopped at many establishments on his way to work in pursuit of an Extreme Million scratch-off ticket.
His final destination was at GetGo on West 3rd Avenue in Columbus when he gave up his hunt and purchased a $1,000,000 Cashword ticket instead.
The man was shocked to scratch off 14 words on the ticket, but a coworker scanned it with the lottery app and proved it was a $1 million winner.
The winner stated that his prize money will be used to pay off his house and car and take his wife on vacation.
