A suspect was shot early Sunday while reportedly attempting to enter a North Dallas residence, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Police arrived about 5:55 a.m. to a suspected burglary in the 5200 block of Mystic Trail.
A preliminary investigation revealed that “a suspect attempting to enter a home was shot by a person inside,” according to police.
According to officials, Dallas Fire-Rescue brought the injured suspect to a hospital, where they were classified as being in critical condition.
No other information about the culprit or the person inside the house was immediately disclosed.
Authorities have not stated if any charges are expected.
The investigation is underway.
